Greater Greater Washington is running a competetion for amateurs to redesign the Washington Metro map, incorporating upcoming changes in the network. The site has put the seventeen entries online in an interactive application where you can vote for your favourite.
The contest isn’t official – apparently someone at the tranist authority is already working on the redesign – the winner just gets bragging rights. Still it’s an interesting exercise in seeing what people want from their maps, and it’s provoking some good debate in the blog’s comments section.
If you want to take part, voting closes midnight Friday, May 20.
